Bench gets SPANK'd again!

Jewelz posts:

Bench Body Billboard

Thanks to one of our readers who spotted this ad by Guadalupe. This is definitely getting SPANK'd! The model/actor is the well known Sergio from Marimar. I can't believe Dingdong allowed to pose like that. What's worse is there's another enormous billboard by Balintawak, near the exit of NLEX. In that billboard, Dingdong is posing in a way where he is doing push ups and is wearing nothing but his underwear. I think it is a major distraction for drivers because it makes you want to look at it and see everything.

Let me know the reasons why this ad is SPANK'd... Cite what part of the Advertising Code of Ethics this billboard violates which was also mentioned in earlier posts?

Dingdong Dantes is capitalizing on his recent popularity. He should have limited his exposure to making decent films and not engaged himself in displaying his bulging private parts in public like the one in this billboard! I believe hes got enough money to survived and by participating in this kind of endeavour poses a question on whether or not he just want to be recognized by women that he is fact a macho man? This ad is definitely classified as indecent and a disgrace to mankind! If they want to sell the underwear, it can be done in a nice way without exposing any body parts which must be kept privately. Perhaps Dingdong shuold participate in a swimwear competetion in Boracay if he is really into displaying his body. He might win something! At any rate, this ad is inappropriate and must be spank.

yes you can wear you brief at home or in the beach for a competition but never in a billboard, for the reason the the drivers loses focus on the the road. this ad should definitely be spanked!

dingdong is a role model of the youth, should the youth be imitating him in showing their skin to the public?

Article Iv, Sect I, #5 of the Philippines Code of Ethics, also applies to this ad. Indecent exposure to the public is certainly not acceptable. Would you like for young children to believe that it is OK to watch this type of ad? If you have your own children especially teenagers, would you want them to view this image and even do the same thing? It is hard to accept that ads like this is allowed to be displayed! I think its time for the general public to do a EDSA I like protest against illegal advertisements! Lets stand united, one for all, and all for one!

Thank you Silverio for citing which part of the Advertising Code of Ethics this billboard has violated, and you're right! I agree that the billboard is indecently exposing too much. Although it is promoting underwear, I think there is a better way to position the product. It does not have to portray Dingdong Dantes practically naked. I'm glad that most of the comments are showing that they agree and that this billboard should be SPANK'd.

The SPANK'd team agrees with all of you that this ad deserves a spank. In fact, this ad deserves to be pulled out since it not only violated the Advertising Code of Ethics but also the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines Code of Ethics. It not only shows indecent exposure of the human body but showing such is distracting to motorists, public and private transportation drivers. We are really glad that all of you are at the same page with us with regard to this advertisement. We hope you guys continue to support us in our movement to spank bad ads.

I'm glad you all agree that this ad is unethical. For one thing, this ad does need to be pulled out since not only does it show indecent exposure of the human body, it can also pose as a driving hazard to motorists who pass by the areas where ads such as these are situated in. It would probably better perhaps, if the benefits of the product were shoen instead. Thanks for supporting us in this project!
